Standard Films Sign Three Year, Three Picture Deal
with VAS Entertainment

San Luis Obispo, California (April 2nd, 2008) - Looking to expand their reach and grow the respected Standard Films brand in international markets, Standard has inked a major three-year, three-picture deal with action sports media company VAS Entertainment.

Under terms of the deal, VAS will have exclusive rights to sell and promote the DVD in the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition the parties are also in talks to develop other feature film and television production deals that will help Standard broaden beyond the core snowboard demographic.

Based in Tahoe Vista, California, Standard Films has produced award-winning snowboard films for almost 19 years. Founded by brothers Mike and Dave Hatchett, Standard’s films helped to launch the careers of some of the sport’s most revered riders.

Hatchett signed with VAS after realizing Standard wanted a global partner to help them navigate through the changing face of media distribution. VAS will collaborate closely with Standard to develop a comprehensive media strategy, which will include core and mainstream DVD distribution, possible television and theatrical production, digital platforms like iTunes, and other emerging opportunities.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Standard to broaden their audience globally," said VAS CEO Michael Lythcott. "Every year, Standard produces the highest caliber snowboard films, and they’re a perfect fit for our platform of worldwide media services."

"Standard Films has worked with VAS since the beginning," said Mike Hatchett. "With the new structure and management VAS has in place, and their strong support of the Standard Films brand, we decided it was time to partner with them in a larger way."

VAS will run early season promotions and a new teaser in mid-April. A coordinated campaign of broadcast ads on MTV, MTV2, Fuel, G4, and Spike TV will be introduced, along with print ads in various industry publications in the later part of the year.
